Staff Anesthesiologist / optional Director of Anesthesia

The Endoscopy Center of New York (ECNY), www.ecny.com, a thriving ambulatory endoscopy surgery center located on the Manhattan’s Upper East Side, seeks a full time Staff Anesthesiologist and Director of Anesthesia.

ECNY has five state-of-the-art procedure rooms serving 30+ board-certified gastroenterologists who perform over 18,000 upper and lower GI endoscopies annually. Our endoscopists derive from the leading New York City medical centers and many are leaders in the field of gastroenterology. ECNY is primarily physician-owned and physician-run. Mount Sinai Hospital, a minority shareholder in ECNY, is a close partner. Physicians Endoscopy provides administrative support.

Five board-certified full-time Staff Anesthesiologists, including the Director of Anesthesia, serve our patients. The duties of the Director of Anesthesia require approximately 8 hours of additional work per week. ECNY is currently open weekdays and 2 Saturdays per month.

Staff Anesthesiologist Main Responsibilities:
• Provide monitored anesthesia care to patients undergoing elective outpatient upper gastrointestinal endoscopy and colonoscopy Monday through Friday (approximately 6:30am to 4:00pm)
• Document anesthesia services according to standard of care and ECNY policies
• Assist with administrative requirements including quality assurance, quality improvements, and accreditation surveys

Director of Anesthesia Main Responsibilities:
• Serve as Staff Anesthesiologist
• Report to Medical Directors and indirectly to Board of Managers
• Supervise and schedule all Staff Anesthesiologists (full-time and per diem)
• Oversee anesthesia policy documentation; performance reviews; adverse event reviews; and quality assurance and continuing quality improvement programs
• Foster culture of quality, collaboration, efficiency, transparency, and trust

Compensation
• Base compensation of $375,000/year for Staff Anesthesiologist
• Base compensation of $425,000/year for Director of Anesthesia
• Overtime opportunities (Saturdays at rate of $2,000/day)
• 401K and company match
• 20 PTO days
