***I AM NOT LOOKING FOR LOCUM POSITIONS***
***FULL-TIME OPPORTUNITIES ONLY***
I completed Anesthesiology residency at Wake Forest University, Cardiothoracic Anesthesiology
fellowship at the University of Maryland, and I am in my fifth year of post-fellowship clinical
experience in a fast-paced, high-acuity medical center as Co-Medical Director and Cardiothoracic
Anesthesiologist. I firmly believe that my experiences in managing complex anesthetics for high risk
patients as well as being board certified in Advanced Perioperative Transesophageal Echocardiography
will prove beneficial to your group, and will continue augment my practice in a valuable way.
Throughout my experiences as a father, a former Anesthesia Technician, and my education as a medical
student/resident/fellow/attending, I have found success by utilizing my strong intrinsic motivation and
desire to continuously work hard and to learn and contribute more. I feel that my greatest contributions
are made in situations where I am part of a team managing multiple variables and constantly making the
necessary adjustments to treat and optimize the care of the anesthetized patient undergoing complex
surgical operations.
It is with this insight that I am now looking for a practice that allows me to utilize my training in
Cardiothoracic Anesthesia and TEE in managing complex cases and high-risk patients (both within the
cardiac/thoracic/vascular operating rooms and with a blend of all case varieties). My current practice
has consisted of a broad focus composed of cardiac (including CABG, MVR, AVR, TAVR, MAZE,
Watchman implantation, Impella, IABP, etc.), vascular (including EVAR, TEVAR, PEVAR, TCAR,
CEA, AAA, etc.), thoracic (including VATS, thoracotomy, robotic, wedge resections, pneumonectomies,
anterior mediastinal mass resection, etc.), robotic (thoracic, general, GYN, urology), trauma (level II
trauma center), obstetrical, pediatrics (basic), general, urology, endoscopy, and orthopedics. In addition,
I have maintained the skills necessary to perform neuraxial, epidural (lumbar and thoracic), and
ultrasound-guided regional Anesthesia (supraclavicular, axillary, femoral, saphenous, sciatic, etc.). Even
though I enjoy sitting my own cases, I also also enjoy working within a care-team model with CRNA’s
(currently medically directing 1:4).
Ultimately, I look forward to furthering my career as a key member of a dynamic group while also
seeking ample family time and work/life balance (***POSITIONS WITH LESS THAN 8 WEEKS OF VACATION/PTO WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED***). I am looking to relocate because I want my 12-month
old son to have a safe community (SC ranked 45th), an excellent education (SC ranked 48th), and live
somewhere great for families (SC ranked 48th). I believe I can be an asset to your group because I am
highly motivated, hard working, very organized, detail-oriented, punctual, and reliable. Other qualities
that I believe you will find valuable include my calm demeanor, friendly nature, excellent hand-eye
coordination, and the character to see my efforts through to completion. Thank you in advance for
considering my candidacy.
