About Winchester Anesthesia Associates:
Winchester Anesthesia Associates (WAA), is seeking both full time and part time nurse anesthetists to work at Winchester Hospital, a Member of Lahey Health, as well as its state of the art Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC). WAA is a private practice group of medical professionals including 13 anesthesiologists and 14 CRNAs, with many years of experience. WAA is committed to hiring a nurse anesthetist whose education and team oriented approach to anesthesia will complement the group.

Clinical Responsibilities:
Nurse Anesthetist’s area of practice at WAA will be part of a team approach to the preparation of patients for anesthesia, its administration, and the post-operative care for adults and children at Winchester Hospital. The nature of the practice is the anesthesia care plan which is reviewed by the Attending Anesthesiologist and Nurse Anesthetist prior to starting any care and continues as needed during and after surgery. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
•Performance of pre-operative consultation and evaluation
•Request lab/diagnostic studies in consultation with floor director
•Deliver pre anesthetic medication
•Administer general anesthetic and adjuvant drugs
•Monitor patients receiving regional anesthesia
•Potential to assist with regional anesthesia including peripheral nerve blocks (for qualified, experienced providers)
•Administer sedation
•Administer CPR
•Invasive and noninvasive monitor placement
•Airway management
•Mechanical ventilation/ O2 delivery
•Fluid, electrolyte, acid base management
•Manage blood products
•Placement of peripheral/arterial catheter
•Acute pain management
•Post anesthesia care/discharge
•Collaboration with anesthesia provider

Working Conditions:
Winchester Hospital – 6 suite Main OR:
•Robotic (trans oral, thoracic, urological, general surgery, GYN)
•General Surgery
•Total Joint
Winchester Hospital – 4 OR suite Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC):
Out of OR:

•A baccalaureate or graduate degree in nursing or other appropriate major.
•An unencumbered license as a registered professional nurse and/or APRN in Massachusetts.
•Graduation from a nurse anesthesia educational program accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs.
•Certification or Recertification by The National Board on Certification or Recertification of Nurse Anesthesia, NBCRNA
•BLS and ACLS certification

•Full time day shift, 4 days a week
•Some beeper call from home on nights and weekends
