Anesthesia Specialists of Bethlehem is seeking a FT, partnership track, critical care anesthesiologist. Total compensation averages $535k!
Full Description:
Anesthesia Specialists of Bethlehem (ASB) is the region’s premier long-term stable private anesthesia practice with a thriving 30+ year history of providing world class care. We are a 63 physician, 105 CRNA private practice group looking to hire a full time, partnership track critical care anesthesiologist due to rapid growth within St. Luke’s University Health Network.

This is a unique opportunity to practice both anesthesiology and critical care medicine with a private group. ASB has a very stable and growing team of 16 critical care anesthesiologists who provide care at a combination of tertiary and community level ICUs. Critical care patient populations include cardiovascular, neuro, and general critical care patients. The ICU service consists of a multidisciplinary rounding team including residents, medical students, advanced practice students, advanced practitioners, critical care pharmacists, respiratory therapy, and critical care nurses. Care is coordinated with the full spectrum of specialists. In addition to anesthesia critical care, you would work with critical care physicians from other specialties contributing to a well-rounded, collegial, multidisciplinary service line.

St. Luke’s University Health Network has grown quickly over the past 10 years, with 3 new campuses built in the last 3 years and we are growing to meet these needs. ASB covers ten inpatient campuses and three ambulatory surgery centers. Our primary inpatient facility, St. Luke's Bethlehem campus is a Level One Trauma Center. The St. Luke’s Anderson campus is a Level Two Trauma Center and houses the newly built Mother and Baby Pavilion which performs 3500 deliveries per year. We have a dedicated team of fellowship trained CT anesthesiologists who provide cardiac care. We have a fellowship trained pediatric team that takes care of challenging peds cases however everyone has the opportunity to take part in “bread and butter” cases. In addition, we perform anesthesia for orthopedics, thoracic, neurosurgery, IR, urology, GYN, ENT, vascular, and general surgery.

ASB is thoroughly committed to the Perioperative Surgical Home model. We run the acute pain service, a surgical optimization clinic, and are well entrenched in ERAS protocols for nearly all of our specialties. Our network emphasizes physician leadership and our Chair of Anesthesia is now the Senior Vice President to whom all other medical departments report. One of our anesthesiologists is the Vice President of Medical Affairs at one of our campuses and we also hold leadership positions for several sub-specialties including clinical research.

Total compensation averages $530k/year and is broken down as: $450k base salary, $66k employer funded 401K contribution, $15k for voluntary calls, $3k for CME, and a $1650 employer funded HRA account. We offer a $50,000 sign on bonus as well as $10,000 relocation payment. All licensing and board fees are covered in addition to CME expenses. We also provide $500/month for car expenses for those who travel between multiple campuses and $80/month for cellphone expenses. Time off totals approximately 19 weeks per year, broken down as 6 weeks of vacation and 13 weeks post call time. Partnership is voted on at 18 months and granted at the completion of two years. A partner is required to buy one share of stock in the practice, costing $2,500 (buy-in).
