We are the academic practice plan of the University of Toledo. Our providers practice at hospitals and medical practices throughout the surrounding areas and provide the greatest quality of care to patients across the region. In addition to providing clinical services, the organization embodies superior administrative practice management services including credentialing, health plan enrollment, managed care contracting, compliance, fee schedule maintenance, billing, payment processing, and collection services.
Position Summary
Join our talented Anesthesiology team complied of 12 Providers and 15 Advanced Practice Professionals working within the University of Toledo Medical Center, an established level 2 academic trauma center. The Department provides patient care for all available surgical specialties whether ambulatory or hospitalized. The mission of the University of Toledo Medical Center is to improve the human condition by providing patient-centered, university-quality care.
Essential Job Functions and Accountabilities
• Evaluating patients’ vital signs, medical histories, allergies, current medication use, and other risk factors
• Working with a medical team to design a patient’s treatment plan
• Supervising nurses when they administer anesthesia to patients before procedures
• Monitoring vital signs of the patient during surgery and adjusting anesthetics as needed
• Maintaining detailed notes on patient treatment, dosing and vital signs
• Continuing care after surgery to control the level of pain relief and consciousness
• Communicating continuing care instructions to specialists and nurses

Required Qualifications
• MD or DO Required
• Board certified or in the board examination process of the American Board of Anesthesiology
• Eligible for or in possession of a valid medical license from the state of Ohio
• Eligible at the University of Toledo and the University of Toledo Medical Center at the level of Instructor (board-eligible) or Assistant Professor
• Committed to the education of fellows, residents and medical students
• Eligible for credentialing at the University of Toledo, the University of Toledo Medical Center and affiliated healthcare institutions.
